RELATED PROJECT
Navalha 2
A performance instrument built for cutting, recombining and transforming sound sources. Its JUCE/C++ migration and the Pure Data reference remain separate projects.
Navalha 2 site →INSTRUMENTS · SOUND · RESEARCH
RASGO is an independent project for creating musical instruments, sound software, artistic research and future hardware.
THE PROJECT
RASGO is an independent artistic and technical field for creating instruments, music software, sound research and future hardware. It connects musical practice, software design, sound design and technical research.
Each project keeps its own history, authorship, license and identity, while sharing an interest in gesture, material, memory and transformation.

PRECURSOR PROJECT · AUTHORIAL WORK
An authorial instrument and an important conceptual precursor to later RASGO research. Today it is also a standalone JUCE/C++ sound object, downloadable and multiplatform.

INSTRUMENT · MODULAR SYNTHESIZER
A modular synthesizer with 58 modules that opens with a patch already built and sounding. You play from there: rewire it by hand, adjust it, or take it apart and start from scratch. The cables play too: they can conduct only some of the time, combine two signals, or break and leave a fading trace.
Rasgo Modular site →RESEARCH
Artistic: gesture, form, improvisation, noise, memory and the transformation of recorded material.
Technical: real-time audio, deterministic processes, efficient algorithms, signal analysis and future embedded hardware.
Teaching: tools and documentation that make musical decisions visible and invite listening rather than aimless automation.
SUPPORT THE WORK
This work is developed independently by an artist-researcher and paid for out of pocket, with no outside funding so far. Support and contributions will go to development, testing, documentation, infrastructure and preservation.

CREDITS
RASGO was created by Lúcio Araújo, an independent artist-researcher working across music, sound, software and experimental instruments. Concept, direction, DSP, interfaces and the editorial project are his own work.
The practice moves between composition, listening, programming, technical investigation, documentation and building instruments that make musical decisions visible.
